Sterling Silver Jewelry Care
STERLING SILVER 925
Sterling Silver 925 or S925 is made of 92.5% of silver and 7.5% alloy as pure silver is too soft to be made into jewellery. Silver tarnishes/oxidises when it comes into contact with sulfur or the moisture and oxygen in the air, and may blacken or turn dull with time.
To ensure your sterling silver jewellery continues to look as good as new, learn more about how to care for your jewellery below.
Preventative Care
1. Wear and clean the jewellery regularly - the natural oils on our skin help to minimise/prevent tarnishing
2. Avoid chemical corrosion - this includes contact with household chemicals, heavily chlorinated water, direct sunlight, substances containing sulfur, and beauty products such as lotions, hairsprays and perfumes (you can use them together, just put on your jewellery last!)
3. Clean your jewellery with a silver cleaning cloth or any non-abrasive cloth and store them properly - in a jewelry/accessories box or an enclosed container, or in the cotton pouch or beautiful bamboo box that came with your Kintsukuroi Studio piece!

Treatment Care
Gently wash and wipe tarnished S925 jewellery with mild soap and water. Use a solution of baking soda and water for tougher stains. Polish with a silver cleaning cloth or use a pea size amount of toothpaste if needed, and wash off after polishing.
With proper care and maintenance, sterling silver jewellery can last a long time while looking as good as new!
